Wrexham have been urged to "do better" by manager Phil Parkinson as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny’s club prepare for Morecambe.

  WHAT HAPPENED?

  The Welsh club saw their 11-game unbeaten run come to a grinding halt after they were beaten 2-0 by Accrington Stanley. Goals from Tommy Leigh and Rosaire Longelo powered the hosts to all three points as Paul Mullin could only hit the woodwork in the first half before missing a penalty. Parkinson insisted that the players have already consigned the defeat to the past but has urged his players to improve.

  Speaking to reporters, Parkinson said: "When you get beat it’s good to get back out on the training ground and it’s been a decent week for us. It’s about not being too down about it [speaking about the defeat against Accrington] but also an acceptance that we need to do better in certain areas. We need to move on quickly and training has been a good, high standard and we’re looking forward to what will be a terrific game.”

  WHAT PHIL PARKINSON SAID ABOUT MORECAMBE

  Morecambe have lost the last two matches and parted ways with manager Derek Adams after a sluggish start to their league campaign, leaving them in ninth. However, Parkinson insisted that it would be a "good game" with the visitors having the potential to hurt them on the counter attack.

  "I don’t expect it to be too different because it’s happened quite quickly and I’d imagine Morecambe will play with the same personnel that they have for most of this season," he said.

  “They aren’t a team that has a lot of possession as they have one of the lowest possession stats in the league but they are a decent counter-attacking side. We have looked at how teams have created opportunities against them and how they took them like Grimsby did. They are a good side with some good energy and I think it will be a good game with us both going head to head.”
