According to top-flight Argentinian side C.A. Independiente, the club the 40-year-old manages, the former striker was hospitalised in Buenos Aires on Tuesday after seeking medical help. The club added that the tests at La Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro were "satisfactory" and will provide updates on his condition in due course. Tevez has since been discharged.

WHAT INDEPENDIENTE SAID
The Argentine club tweeted: "Our coach, Carlos Tevez, entered the La Trinidad Sanatorium in San Isidro with chest pain. They carried out the corresponding studies and they were satisfactory. Tomorrow you will continue with a series of exams scheduled in advance as part of a general check-up that is usually carried out."
They later added: "Carlos Tevez will be hospitalized as a precaution until the corresponding studies are completed."
The club then confirmed his discharge in the evening, writing: "Carlos Tevez finished his medical studies and was discharged. He will return home to rest and return to training tomorrow."

Tevez enjoyed a glittering career, starring for the likes of City, United, Juventus and Boca Juniors, along with the Argentina national team. In 2021, he retired from the sport before taking management roles at Rosario Central and more recently Independiente in his native Argentina. After developing a reputation as a great of the modem game, millions will hope the ex-forward makes a full recovery.

Tevez will hope to be back on the touchline soon, with Independiente due back in domestic action on May 12, with a clash against Talleres Cordoba on the cards.
